How to Generate a Battery Report via CMD
1. Open Command Prompt as Administrator
• Press and select Command Prompt (Admin) or Windows Terminal (Admin).
2. Run the Battery Report Command
powercfg /batteryreport
• Press Enter. This command creates a report in HTML format.
3. Locate the Report
• The report is saved to: C:\Users\*YourUsername*\battery-report.xml OR CMD will tell you where it is saved.
• Open File Explorer, navigate to your user folder, and double-click the file to view it in your browser.
What You'll See in the Report
• Battery capacity history: Shows how your battery’s full charge capacity compares to its design capacity.
• Recent usage: Tracks power states over time.
• Battery life estimates: Predicts how long your battery lasts based on usage patterns.
If your battery’s full charge capacity is significantly lower than its design capacity, it might be time to consider a replacement.
